1. Hot Wheels Skate Center
Hot Wheels Skate Center offers a great way to entertain your kids while having a little fun yourself! In addition to skating they have an arcade, full-service concession area, novelty items, and pro-shop. The admission price varies for each skate session. You can bring your own roller skates or inline skates. If you do not have your own skates, they offer skate rentals. This is also a great place to book your child’s birthday party!
2. Eastern Shore Lanes
Eastern Shore Lanes is located in Spanish Fort, just a VERY short drive from Daphne. This is definitely a kid thing to do near Daphne! They offer bowling, Lazor Tag, clip & climb, ropes course, pool tables, and an arcade. This is another great place to book your child’s birthday party! While you are there you can grab a fast snack or sit down at the Aley 25 Bar & Grill for a nice meal. If bowling is really your thing, they have bowling leagues, even for youth age kids – make sure to look into those!
3. Horseback Riding
Lake Forest Stables
There are a few different places to go horseback riding near Daphne. Located in Daphne is Lake Forest Stables. They offer boarding, lesson, birthday parties, summer camps, and trail rides.
Oak Hollow Farm
Located in Fairhope, very close to Daphne, Oak Hollow Farm is a beautiful location to enjoy horseback riding. They also offer skeet shooting, pheasant hunting, fishing, photoshoots, and more.
Wild Hawk Ranch
This is just a short drive to Robertsdale. Wild Hawk Ranch offers lessons, riding, training, and boarding. You are allowed to ride their beautiful quarter horses, two people, at a time or three if you are experienced. They also offer an arena or 10-acre pastures.
4. Go See a Movie
A movie and popcorn is always a fun treat to kids! It’s a perfect activity on a not so great weather day, not that we have a lot of those here! We have AMC Classic Jubilee Square 12 theater in Daphne’s Jubliee Square and the Spanish Fort Premiere 14 Easter Shore theater in the Malbis Mall.
5. Fantasy Island Toys
Celebrating 45 years in Downtown Fairhope a true toy store for kids to shop. Toy stores are not easily found anymore however, Fantasy Island Toys is a great one to visit. While you are there look into their Kidivities Classes, you can choose to attend in-store or pick up a kit to take home.
6. Tortuga Adventure Golf
Located in the Malbis Mall in Spanish Fort, Tortuga Adventure Golf is a fun activity for the whole family. It is an 18 hold glow-in-the-dark Pirate Adventure! Located indoors, it makes a perfectly fun day no matter the weather!
7. Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo
The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is located in Gulf Shore however, well worth the drive for the kids to have a great experience. It is home to over 199 species, 31 sub-species, and haven to 8 endangered species. Spread out over 25 acres with wide pathways, yet providing close-up views of their exhibits, the zoo also has shaded picnic areas, rest stops and benches, a seasonal concession stand, and a gift shop filled with awesome animal-themed merchandise. The zoo is ideally suited for all ages and levels of mobility, from moms pushing strollers to seniors leisurely strolling.
8. ZooBee’z Indoor Petting Zoo
After you spend some time at the zoo, head on over to the ZooBee’z Indoor Petting Zoo in Foley. The kids will surely enjoy being allowed to pet a few animals. While their website does not give much information their Facebook page stated they are only open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm. Prices are $9 for Adults / $8 for Children / 2 and under Free.
9. The Factory of Gulf Shores
Take the kids to jump around on over 20,000 square feet of trampolines! The Factory of Gulf Shores offers over 100 trampolines, air dodgeball, basketball goals you can dunks on, and foam pits to soar into. This is defiantly a fun day for the kids, and you will all go home worn out!
10. Jumpin’ Jellybeans
Now if trampolines are NOT your thing, head over to Jumpin’ Jellybeans in Spanish Fort. They offer one of the largest ball pits in Alabama, designated toddler area, child safety check program, hot and free coffee offered by Flavia, CoolBeans Cafe for parents, ability to bring in your own food and snacks, and more. You won’t find a SINGLE TRAMPOLINE or BOUNCE HOUSE. This is another great place to have your child’s birthday party!
11. OWA
Located in Foley, OWA (oh-wah) is home to annual events, fireworks displays, and holiday entertainment. This amusement park features 20+ rides and Downtown OWA is an admission-free entertainment district. They have great places to shop and eat! You could spend your entire day here, and night if you choose! In fact, you can stay on-site at the TownePlace Suites.
